The word "Knyaz" literally means "king"
in contemporary Russian and Ukrainian languages, and it is the real surname of the
artistess.
Olga Knyaz is originated from ancient king family of Kievan Rus (this ancient state also
is known as Rutenia). Textile arts are her family traditions. She uses her academic
education of decorative arts institute as professional artist to create the high
progessional art hand woven tapestries. About 150 art tapestries was made from 1989 by her
art group. More than 120 of them are in the private collections today.

Yaroslaw Rozputnyak is originated from ancient Rutenian
family.The surname "Rozputnyak" is from very ancient pre-Russian language
of Indo-European origin. Even in contemporary Indian languages "Roz+put" or
"Raj+put" means "Son of Royal family", and "Nayak" means
"leader". Textile arts are his family traditions. He came to the tapestries as
to the curative objects with his medical academic education and has changed his profession
to become professional artists-tapestrist due to research work on curative properties of
the hand woven tapestries.
